To help out a bit, or to try to forget

I travelled the 14 communities

To forget the dark years

When they tried to assimilate you

To get you to forget your language

And your culture, to reinvent you

These rites they wanted to impose

Faced with an icy wind.

I travelled the 14 communities

And finally, I hoped

That you could regain

Your freedom

And end up forgiving us.
